物語の最後で、ナツはルーシィの為に、あえて、ルーシィの願いを聞かないという選択をします。その結果、ナツも自身も重い荷物を背負うことになりますけど、それが分かった上で、ルーシィを守る為にそういう選択をする。それはナツに、仲間意識や友情よりも少し踏み込んだルーシィへの気持ちがあるからなんじゃないかと思ったんですね。

ナツがルーシィに対して感じている気持ちというのは、原作でまだはっきりと 描かれていない部分だったりもするんですが、今回の劇場版では、そのあたりに少し突っ込んでもいいというお話を真島先生からもいただいてましたので、ナツの視線や動きなどを通して、友情の少し先にあるルーシィへの想いを表現しているつもりです。
