PROFILE
I was born somewhere in a town in the late 1970s as the son of both my mother and father. At the age of 21, I decided to purchase my first camera. Over the last 15 years I have scratched my head 13,473 times, studied photography, kissed eight girls, three donkeys and one surly alpaca, dropped out of art school, worked as an architectural and commercial photographer, won numerous awards and exhibited both nationally and internationally. Oh, did I mention the surly alpaca? His name was Barry.
Throughout my varied photography career one constant that has remained is my love of landscape photography, with a particular focus on experimenting with long exposure techniques and large format cameras. I enjoy everything about landscape photography. I enjoy chasing good light… and chasing bad light. I enjoy the travel and with exposure times of up to eight hours, I don’t mind the wait. Well, I must admit that whilst a one hour exposure provides an experience of contemplation and relaxation, anything over three hours becomes a painful waiting game. Nevertheless I quietly persist, driven by the chase of that elusive photo, which may one day satisfy my desire for perfection.
So here I am, having left all other photography pursuits behind, focused on my landscape photography full time.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Samuel.
Ps. No animals were harmed in the making of this profile.
Pps. I may not have actually kissed three donkeys and an Alpaca named Barry, but hey, I thought it made for a good story.
